DualSenseX-Steam allows you to use your PlayStation 5 DualSense or DualSense Edge controller on your Windows PC. The software translates your controller inputs into signals that Windows understands. This allows the controller to function in games that do not support PS5 hardware natively. You gain access to adaptive triggers, vibration settings, and light customization options.
Your computer must meet these basic needs to use the software:
Follow these steps to set up the software on your machine:
Upon the first launch, the program will detect your connected controller. If you connect via Bluetooth, ensure your PC sees the controller in the Windows Bluetooth settings menu before opening the app.
The main interface displays your controller status at the top. If the text says Disconnected, check your cable or re-pair the device via Bluetooth. The application creates a virtual Xbox controller. This emulates a standard Windows gaming controller, ensuring total compatibility with almost any PC game.
The software provides several tools to improve your gaming experience.
You can toggle different resistance modes for the L2 and R2 triggers. These modes simulate the mechanical feel of pulling a bowstring or pressing a heavy vehicle pedal. Select from presets like Gun, Bow, or Machine, or use the custom slider to set your own tension levels.
The app translates standard PC vibration into signals your controller hardware can process. You can adjust the strength of these vibrations to suit your preference.
Change the LED glow on your controller. Select any color using the color wheel in the settings menu. You can also turn off the lights if you prefer a darker gaming environment.
The application works well with Steam Input. Because the software emulates an Xbox controller, Steam games will recognize the input immediately. You do not need to configure complex settings inside the game menu.
If you run into issues, check these frequent solutions:
The software runs in the background while you play. It uses minimal system resources. You can minimize the window to the system tray to keep your taskbar clean. To do this, click the minimize button in the title bar. The app will continue to run and maintain your settings until you right-click the icon in the taskbar and choose Exit.
